Description
Trainer: Adrian ‘Mac’ Mackay, Managing Partner, Duncan Alexander & Wilmshurst
SRA Code of Conduct 2011 Chapter 7 (Management of your business) requires that ‘if you are a recognised body, a manager of a recognised body or a recognised sole practitioner’ you must be ‘qualified to supervise’ and ‘must have completed the training specified by the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority’.
Building on the mandatory Management Course Stage One this one-day programme explores supervision and management in more detail, provides a full 6 hours of CPD, and extends the scope of management into law firm leadership.
The course is ideally placed for prospective supervising solicitors offering the requisite hours of management training CPD to meet the requirements of Chapter 7 and for those heading-up their own firm. Selected from the syllabus, the following key topics will be addressed:
- Managing the Firm - a leadership perspective
- Managing Client Relationships - an outcomes focused approach
- Managing People - motivation, ability and confidence building
The style is one of a ‘hands-on’ approach using case study and tutor-lead discussion giving delegates an opportunity to make a real and immediate difference back in their Firm.
Who should attend:
- Those solicitors that wish to manage their own firm or a branch office that need to meet the requirements of Chapter 7 having already attended Management Course Stage 1.
- All those people who feel that they need a refresher to their management skills.
