What is Connect2Law?
Connect2Law is the UK’s leading referral and support network for law firms. Operated by law firms for law firms. It is a free and no obligation scheme available for any law firm in the UK to join.
Our aim is to provide the highest quality and reliable support service for you and your clients in a wide range of areas. Here are answers to some of the questions we have been asked.
History of Connect2Law
Connect2Law was established in 2001 by Pannone LLP. Initially the scheme offered support to law firms in the North West by assisting their clients in areas of law which the member firms didn’t cover themselves. The arrangement was underpinned by a non poaching agreement so the property of the client remained with the member and in return for an accepted referral the firm received a fee share.
Today this referral network is still at the heart of Connect2Law however the range of services now offered to Connect2Law members is extensive and covers a wide range of support areas much beyond the referral network. For a summary of all Connect2Law services go to Benefits of Membership.
Connect2Law now operates across the UK with a total of 20 law firms who support the network membership of in excess of 2,200 law firms across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The network also has access to partner law firms who can assist with queries relating to The Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the European continent. Why should we send our clients to you?
When you join Connect2Law we enter into a written non-poaching agreement with you agreeing we will not market our services to your clients. If after you have referred a client to us your client returns to us with another matter, we ask them to contact you in the first instance. This allows you to retain your clients, receive a fee share, as well as a range of other benefits.
As a result of the very good standing and reputation of our many specialist departments, and commitment to client service, you can be confident that your client will receive the level of service you’d expect. We operate to a service level agreement with you to ensure this is the case.
Is it really free to join and a no obligation scheme?
Yes!
Unlike many other schemes there is no joining fee and no ongoing fee to be a member of Connect2Law.
There is no obligation for you to regularly use any or all of the services, although over a period of time there would be an expectation that some of the benefits of the scheme would be used, even if occasionally, otherwise why be a member?!
Our experience is what our members put into Connect2Law is what they get out of it.
What if you can't help my client?
If we cannot deal with any particular matter, we will contact you promptly to let you know why. If this is because the case doesn’t have merits we will let you know, but if the matter has merits but is in one of the very limited areas of law where we do not have a specialism we will ask if you would like us to assist your client accessing another Connect2Law firm who has that specialism. We are likely to be able to recommend a specialist in every field and the non poaching terms still apply to those we refer a matter on to.
What is the range of benefits Connect2Law offers?
The range of benefits Connect2Law offers to our members and their clients is constantly evolving. In part based upon new services or products we believe add value to our members and in part based upon feedback from our members.
